    LOCATION/SCHEDULE: Hybrid 1-2x a week, Santa Barbara Main Office

    SALARY RANGE: $116,762 - $180,981 Based on experience*

    This position is responsible for overseeing the Sr. /Financial Analysts and is expected to have a significant understanding and working knowledge of all of the duties entailed in Financial Analyst job descriptions. In addition, this position will develop, interpret and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control. Performs technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, vendors' contract activity, trends, future requirements, and operating forecasts. Performs economic research and studies in the areas of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements. This position will report to the Director of Finance.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Overseeing Financial Analysts, including tasks/assignments, as well as assisting with annual performance reviews

    • The ideal candidate must be very experienced in budgeting, Forecasting, and Long Range.

    • Financial Planning. Month End Close, Variance Analysis, Financial Analysis

    • Develop and manage comprehensive analyses for internal and external audiences that support the plan to achieve improvements in data quality reporting

    • Present analytic information and data management to various levels of customers

    • Provide a point of coordination for customers to integrate and leverage analytics outcomes

    • Oversee/Develop complex end-to-end reporting processes to support a variety of functions, including DHCS, DMHC, Pay for Performance, and risk-sharing modeling

    • Lead special projects, lending data expertise, and actionable insights. Identify and support areas of analytical focus for the organization's service delivery/performance and evaluation of potential areas of opportunity and risk

    • Identify and communicate the impact of analytical findings/decision support.

    • Leverage business intelligence tools to develop, analyze and defend analytic results

    • Support selection, development, implementation, maintenance, and training of business intelligence tools across the company

    • Work with internal departments as well as external parties to enhance the use of data to improve the management of our core businesses.

    • Manage and supervise a team of analysts

    • Provide leadership and mentor team with the use of business knowledge and analytics expertise

    • Backup to Director of Finance and Finance Manager as needed

    Qualifications

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES 

    • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles

    • Extensive knowledge of auditing procedures

    • In-depth knowledge of healthcare principles and data Experience in managing staff and distribution of workload

    • SQL, Access, Excel, and reporting software knowledge required

    • Extensive experience in working with relational databases, large data sets, and multiple data sources required

    • Experience with validating and auditing data and understanding data governance concepts

    • Experience with Business Objects, PowerPoint, and healthcare transactional systems preferred

    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to successfully relate to people at all levels

    • Strong strategic and operational orientation capable of guiding efforts and activities in a fast-paced, data-rich, and data-hungry organization

    • Driven to continually advance the organization's knowledge base, initiatives, and market leadership

    • Organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in maintaining a complex reporting system required

    • The ability to effectively manage competing priorities and ambiguity is essential

    • Ability to gather, read, analyze, and interpret complex data and create accurate meaningful information for data reporting and decision support

    • Ability to facilitate meetings and make presentations before groups of management and staff

    • Maintain strict confidentiality

    • Think independently and communicate effectively

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and/or Accounting and/or a minimum of ten (10) years of related experience in a financial and analytical setting

    • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in data systems required

    PREFERRED:

    • MBA preferred

    • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a managed care, hospital, or similar setting 

    • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience
