We are seeking a strong, decisive, and nurturing Preschool Director to lead our school with professionalism, operational discipline, and heart. This leader will be fully accountable for enrollment growth, financial performance, team development, and compliance standards—while fostering a positive, collaborative culture where children, families, and staff thrive. Position Overview
The Preschool Director is responsible for the full performance and daily operations of the school, including:
· Driving enrollment toward and maintaining capacity goals
· Managing labor to meet margin expectations
· Ensuring licensing compliance and operational excellence
· Building and retaining a high-performing team
· Delivering a consistent, high-quality family experience
This role requires strong decision-making, financial awareness, and the ability to hold standards while maintaining a supportive school culture.
Leadership & Performance Responsibilities
Enrollment & Retention Accountability
· Lead enrollment efforts to meet or exceed capacity targets
· Monitor tours, conversion rates, and follow-up systems
· Drive family retention through proactive communication and service excellence
· Identify enrollment gaps and implement action plans quickly
Financial & Operational Performance
· Align staffing and scheduling with enrollment and ratio requirements
· Actively manage labor hours and payroll to achieve margin goals
· Review performance metrics regularly and adjust operations accordingly
· Ensure billing accuracy and timely administrative execution
Team Leadership & Standards
· Recruit, hire, and develop strong early childhood educators
· Set clear performance expectations and provide direct, constructive feedback
· Address performance concerns promptly and professionally
· Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and solution-oriented thinking
Program & Classroom Oversight
· Ensure classrooms meet developmentally appropriate practice standards
· Monitor classroom management and child guidance approaches
· Support individualized instruction and social-emotional development
· Maintain high expectations for classroom organization and professionalism
Compliance & Safety
· Ensure full and consistent licensing compliance
· Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards without exception
· Oversee CPR/First Aid compliance and required certifications
· Keep documentation audit-ready at all times
Qualifications
· Director-level experience in early childhood education preferred
· Strong operational and financial awareness
· Proven track record of enrollment growth and team leadership
· Knowledge of licensing regulations and compliance standards
· Ability to manage performance with clarity and professionalism
· CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
· Meets state requirements for Preschool Director qualification
· Background check clearance required
