    To fill CET’s mission, the Outreach Specialist/Recruiter plays an important role in connecting prospective students to our programs. Prospective students might be looking for new skills training, change in a career or upgrading their skill sets; the Outreach Specialist/Recruiter will be able to advocate CET services and program offerings to these prospective students and promote the CET mission and initiatives in the accomplishment of the organization’s goals.

    SKILLS

    • BILINGUAL IN SPANISH IS REQUIRED.
    • Strong sales and marketing skills.
    • Highly organized and motivated, able to schedule and handle multiple tasks and projects at once;
    • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, communicating with businesses and government partners;
    • Experience or knowledge of the local community, high schools, and services preferable;
    • Professional, friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic personality, proactive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit.
    • Knowledge of marketing techniques and software (social media, Canva) to assist in promotion of recruitment events
    • Previous experience with cold calls and tradeshows

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Fosters and develops relationships and creates community partnerships that serve CET populations for cross referrals, including: individuals, churches, high schools, social service agencies, state employment offices/one stops and other sites of potential student recruitment.
    • Develops and implements outreach and recruitment plans to meet enrollment goals.
    • Carries out communications, marketing, and outreach related duties as necessary.
    • Strategically canvasses and visits sites in the community where potential CET students congregate.
    • Conducts outreach and community presentations, recruitment activities/events on campus or off campus at referral partner organizations or events (e.g., local high schools career days, community org job fairs, and other special events.
    • Connects potential students with multiple barriers with a skill training that will lead to gainful employment.
    • Identifies outside resources, programs and other services for potential students if needed.
    • As a liaison, develops and maintains open communication with potential students, parents, teachers, the community and the Admissions team.
    • Maintains knowledge/professional understanding of the occupations/career paths related to the programs offered (for effective assessment of students as well as determining services most appropriate for their career goals.
    • As part of the broader Center recruitment and admissions process team, provides motivational support to students during the admissions process including orientation workshops and presentations.
    • Provides general information on program eligibility and other entrance requirements.
    • Works under the direction of the Center Director to ensure enrollment goals are met.
    • Ensures data entry, documentation, tracking, follow-up and reporting are completed in a timely manner.
    • Utilize creative personality to market CET programs to adults of all age
    • Assist is running an Open House event once per year
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to meet enrollment goals and deadlines under pressure.
    • Ability to quickly learn and efficiently and effectively use CET’s applicant tracking CRM programs.
    • Strong planning and self-management skills.
    • Ability to build and sustain strong, collaborative, and productive community and partner relationships.
    • Knowledge of the local community and its vocational training, technical training, public education, and human services organizations/structures desirable.
    • Inspires and motivates students to complete the admissions process.
    • Possess strong collaborative, communication and critical thinking skills.
    • Ability to understand and empathize with individuals that have multiple barriers to employment.
    • Ability develop a referral network within various community service agencies for recruitment and outreach purposes.
    • Ability to follow instructions well.
    • Adaptable, flexible, and a fast learner.
    • Be able to adjust work schedule to accommodate special events which may include local travel.
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Maintain a business professional manner at all times
    • Familiar with Microsoft Office and other standard office technologies.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • Associates degree or higher in business, marketing, or related field preferred
    • Three (3) or more years of relevant work experience.
    • Experience working with persons of diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATES

    Use of a personal or company vehicle for CET business may be necessary in the performance of assigned duties such as attending meetings and events, recruiting, transporting students, picking up materials, and running errands. The Human Resources Department may request copies of a valid driver’s license and proof of personal automobile insurance upon being hired and annually thereafter.
