    WHAT IS A CLINICAL INTERVENTION SPECIALIST?  

    Under general BCBA supervision implements one-to-one Intensive Behavioral Instruction therapy to patients in a center-based environment, and general relates tasks. Consistent of multi-disciplinary approaches such as evidence-based Applied Behavioral Analysis, and general education requirements. Evaluating student progress through data collection techniques and modify behavioral plans and programs to achieve optimal behavioral outcomes that facilitate student learning. 

    WHAT YOUR ROLE IS: 

    • Responsible for the provision of direct client services and care coordination for assigned youth and families within a designated program. 

    • Conducts 100% of scheduled Intensive Behavioral Instruction therapy sessions to select students, unless time-off has been granted or the parents of the client have communicated to the clinical team that they would not like for the hours to be provided. When families cancel the Clinical Intervention Specialist is responsible for conducting subbing sessions for other clients to sustain the productivity margin. Subbing sessions will fall within the employee’s availability. 

    • Responsible for coordinating and conducting make-up sessions when canceling their own sessions. 

    • Additional hours may be assigned by the direct supervisor and/or Director of Clinical Practice. 

    • Implements individualized treatment goals and Behavioral Support Plans in response to the direction provided by the Clinical Director and/or other clinical staff in order to improve the behavior and skill acquisition of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other related developmental disabilities. Travels to home and other community settings, as required, to deliver services. 

    • Performs routine paraprofessional instructional activities, assists with the presentation of learning materials, conducting instructional exercise, tutoring individual students or in small-group settings to reinforce learning/training activities. Including subjects related to general education (ex. English, math, art, and exercise). 

    • Maintains physical environment (duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning and organizing the classroom/service area/living area, reporting safety issues to facilities, doing and sorting laundry, etc.) 

    • Maintain a variety of patient records and files, including confidential student records and information. Subject to HIPAA standards and practices. Perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel, such as filing, faxing, document drafting, materials creation, and more.

     

    WHAT’S REQUIRED FROM YOU? 

    • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines: early childhood education, nursing, psychology or related field; bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Or, 

    • The equivalent of two years of college coursework at an accredited college or university, with a concentration in early childhood education, nursing, social work, psychology or related field. 

    • 1_2 years of related professional experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders and/or other related developmental disabilities in a multi-disciplinary team setting. 

    • RBT OR the ability to obtain a RBT certification within the first 30 of being hired. We'll require they are certified before they begin working with clients. 

    • Safety Care Training, and Crisis Prevention training. 

    • Knowledgeable of methodologies found to benefit children with autism spectrum disorders, including Behavioral Instruction (IBI) or Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Applied Behavioral Analysis (“ABA”), Early Start Denver Model (“ESDM”), Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication-Handicapped Children (“TEACCH”), Picture Exchange Communication System (“PECS”), and Pivotal Response Training (“PRT”). 

    • Familiar with the field of early intervention and knowledgeable of other community resources and agencies that serve children. 

    • Ability to physically hold and/or restrain children, following "Handle with Care" principles and techniques 

    • Basic concepts of child development and behavioral characteristics. Particularly developmental disabilities. 

    • Knowledgeable in behavior management strategies/techniques, data tracking, and interpersonal mentoring. 

    • Proficient in basic subjects such as arithmetic, grammar, mathematics, reading and more. 

    • Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population. 

    • Able to work in multiple program service areas. 

    • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; American Sign Language or bilingual ability preferred. 

    • Experience in prior educator role preferred.
