The PRIVACY & ETHICS LEAD  is responsible for monitoring compliance in accordance with government regulations relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The Privacy & Ethics Lead works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• The Privacy & Ethics Lead researches available resources and coordinates implementation of this highly specialized and technical information.
• Coordinates the implementation of HIPAA's transaction, privacy, and security standards as well as new and revised State regulatory standards.
• Serve as a resource for Privacy related issues for affiliates including but not limited to all CenterWell affiliates.
• Designs, develops, implements and promotes awareness of the organization's business ethics policies.
• Monitors the organization's standards of conduct and ethical relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, employees and the communities in which business is conducted.
• Investigates allegations of unethical activity and develops safeguards to eliminate future breaches of the organization's ethics policies.
• Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance.
• Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision. 
• Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: 

• Bachelor's degree required, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
• 8 or more years of privacy & ethics experience as it relates to healthcare and compliance
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA laws and other regulatory standards
• 2 or more years of project leadership experience
• Familiarity with healthcare legislation and standards for protecting PHI
• This role requires full COVID-19 vaccination
