    Position Title: Student Music Director Campus: All

    Reports to: Lead Student Worship Pastor Status: 18 Hours

    Position Summary:

    The Student Music Director is responsible for supporting the Lead Student Worship Pastor in develop volunteers and planning weekly services and events for all campuses. This includes creating a healthy and thriving worship ministry by owning a clear vision, providing direct leadership to Worship teams, and assist in leading a worship culture connected to the heart of CSM and Central Music.

    This position is connected to the faith and ministry of the church and moves forward the vision of Central Christian Church.

    Responsibilities:

    Help lead and develop CSM Worship Leads and Worship Team Members

    Facilitate rehearsals on Wednesday Nights, offer practical coaching, and build relationship equity with Worship Teams

    Meet with students to teach Worship Team members necessary music theory, technique, and performance skills

    Recruit, audition, and develop Worship Team members

    Work closely with the Lead Student Worship Pastor to help contribute to the planning and execution of CSM services

    Resource practice material for Wednesday Night Services

    Help CSM Worship Leads with Worship Team Scheduling

    Work with Lead Student Worship Pastor with the overall service/programming flow

    Make tracks for Wednesday Night services

    Be able to identify where students are at in age and skill level and determine their next step in growth

    Partner with CSM team to provide worship experiences for events

    Support vision and direction of Central Music and CSM

    Participate in “all staff” events at each level

    Participate in weekend services when needed

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

    A personal walk with Jesus

    Excellent written and communication skills

    Organizational skills

    Able to play musical instruments relevant to CSM’s needs

    Able to coach students at various levels of skill with playing keys, bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and drums

    Able to coach vocalists with pitch and rhythm

    Positive attitude

    Experience in Planning Center Online, Multitrack’s Playback, Ableton, Logic, Mainstage, and ProPresenter

    Ability to work independently within scope of assignment

    Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and to be flexible in executing last-minute weekend changes

    Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team

    Well-rounded music knowledge/understanding

    Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
