    Position Title: Associate Campus Pastor/Central Kids Pastor

    Campus: Glendale

    Reports to: Lead Kids Pastor

    Status: Full-Time

    Position Summary: The Associate Campus Pastor/Central Kids Pastor will focus on helping people take their Next Spiritual Steps. They will lead Central’s Rooted Ministry, lead and develop a thriving Cares Ministry, and lead campus Special Events. Their primary focus will be to create an exciting and engaging Kid’s Ministry, leading kids in their next steps on their journey with Jesus. This role will engage individuals and families in the community and will work to recruit, develop, and equip volunteer leaders in each area of ministry. The Associate Campus Pastor/Central Kids Pastor must embody a heart for people and possess the maturity and wisdom to pastorally equip and empower people as they grow in their faith.

    This position is connected to the faith and ministry of the church and moves forward the vision of Central Christian Church.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Help people commit to Jesus Christ and the Glendale campus by taking their next spiritual steps through Discover More classes, joining a Rooted Group, participating in Community Groups, and through baptism.

    Lead the development and implementation of Central Cares Ministry

    Help and assist every person to discover and activate their gifts for ministry so they can fulfill their mission and the mission of Central Christian Church.

    Create memorable and meaningful Special Events to develop community and enhance the Glendale campus experience

    Develop relationships with individuals and families

    Manage communication between Leadership Teams and Campus Pastor

    Develop, maintain, and grow partnerships with families, school administrators, and community organizations

    Participate in the leadership, development, and implementation of Central Kids’ weekend ministry. This includes but is not limited to, curriculum and program development, resource preparation, room preparation, room staffing, and set-up and tear-down

    Participate in the leadership and implementation of Central Kids’ ministry events. This includes but is not limited to Camp 456 (4th-6th grade), Kids Camp, Training nights, and outreach activities

    Support the Central Kids’ Core Values: Safety and Security, Biblical Teaching, Fun, Community and Families

    Support the vision and direction of Central Christian Church and Family Ministries

    Attend Campus Lead Team meetings as required

    Participate in “all staff” events at each level.

    Attend monthly ACP meetings

    Attend weekly Kids Ministry meetings

    Attend all church-wide/campus-specific events

    Volunteer Recruiting, Training and Development:

    Recruit and develop volunteer leadership for Cares, Central Kids, Rooted, and Special Events

    Train, empower, and encourage leadership in all areas (best practices, group multiplication, disciple-making, etc.)

    Help Volunteer Leaders remain focused on helping people connect in the community and to grow in their next steps.

    Cast a clear vision for how to move people to their Next Step and connect them to Baptism, Rooted, Cares, and Community Groups

    Recruit, equip, and empower Student Leaders in the Central Kids Ministry

    Support the vision and direction of Central Christian Church and Family Ministries

    Campus Life:

    Provide pastoral care to the people in each AOR as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, weddings, funerals, baptisms, and hospital/hospice calls.

    Assist and support the Campus Pastor’s work with overall campus community life

    As needed, support the Campus Pastor in meeting the benevolence needs of the campus

    Support the Campus Pastor in his/her efforts to build a strong community and to reach the community that surrounds the campus

    Understand and achieve KPI goals that are set every year

    Act as one of the primary backups for Campus Pastor in his/her absence

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

    A personal walk with Jesus.

    Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to twenty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
