    Position Summary: The Marketing Director will oversee internal and external marketing strategy and communications (visual, written, and branding) to articulate and fulfill Central’s mission consistently. This position requires an understanding of marketing strategies, as well as the flexibility to change and grow with the ever-shifting landscape of modern communication. The Marketing Director should be a creative, innovative, strategic, and visionary leader. The Marketing Director will be responsible for the management, oversight, and leadership of the Marketing team. This position has a broad spectrum of tasks, from detailed administrative work to large project oversight. The Marketing Director position requires strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and administrative skills.

    This position is connected to the faith and ministry of the church and moves forward the vision of the Central Christian Church.

    Responsibilities:

    Communication Strategy: The Marketing Director is responsible for all internal and external marketing strategies, including brand strategy, use of film, social media, content management, communication environments, and overall brand experience.

    Develop and implement a church-wide communication plan that reflects Central’s vision/mission.

    Lead the Marketing Team and all efforts related to the creation, strategy, and execution of Central’s digital communication channels, including print materials, digital elements, email, website, social media, and more.

    Create, implement, and oversee all internal promotions and external marketing plans.

    Oversee social media messaging and communication strategies employed by the Digital Marketing Specialist.

    Strengthen various ministries and their success by developing communication plans specific to their audiences by conveying their vision and communications priorities to appropriate audiences through social media, graphic design, and engaging video content.

    Contribute toward and lead a team that writes, edits, and creates content for regular communication vehicles, including website content, church e-mails, newsletters, and social media.

    Media Relations: The Marketing Director shall serve as the lead point person on media interactions and actively cultivate and manage press relationships to ensure coverage of issues of strategic importance, programs, special events, public announcements, and other projects.

    Exercise judgment to prioritize media opportunities and prepare talking points, speeches, presentations, and other supporting material as needed.

    Create positive relationships with local and national media.

    Oversee efforts related to securing or responding to media attention.

    Develop policies and procedures related to media relations.

    Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach on a consistent basis.

    Responsible for maintaining Central’s Brand Management.

    This individual is a visionary with a contagious spirit to see how the church can be concise, clear, and creative in its communications.

    Support the vision and direction of the Central Christian Church.

    Participate in all-staff events as an owner of the mission

    Support all staff duties and functions for Central

    Perform other duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

    4+ years of church marketing experience at a large church and/or Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university. Marketing, communications, or multi-site church experience is preferred

    Minimum five years related work experience or ministry work equivalent

    Management-level experience with strong leadership skills and training abilities

    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint

    High integrity and commitment to handling sensitive and confidential information

    Able to problem-solve and multi-task

    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

    A strong understanding of design, copy, and web best practices/guidelines

    Excellent communication and leadership skills

    Experience with a variety of software, including Photoshop, InDesign, Flash, etc.

    Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk sit; use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear;. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
