Central Coast Home Health and Hospice is a fast-growing and locally owned organization with an excellent reputation throughout the San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. We are constantly growing and now seeking a MEDICAL BILLING COORDINATOR to join our Billing team in the San Luis Obispo office.

Work schedule: full-time hours, Monday through Friday

Duties:

·       Complete chart audits for billing preparation: patient status, service dates, insurance verification

·       Communicate effectively with patients, MD offices and clinical staff to ensure validity of information and educate on possible issues or changes related to billing

·       AR support

·       Complies with Medicare billing regulations

·       Participate in departmental and organizational wide quality improvement activities

Requirements:

·       Medical billing experience preferred for both Medicare and Non-Medicare insurance;

·       Knowledge of insurance eligibility, benefit verification and authorizations

·       Excellent computer skills, including strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook

·       Excellent telephone skills

·       Excellent customer service skills

·       Self-directed and resourceful with the ability to handle multiple tasks

·       Adaptable to change in the work environment and able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events

·       Team player with the attitude and ability to assist other billing/collection peers as needed

·       Demonstrates and maintains a positive, professional manner, manages time efficiently and effectively, promotes a team approach, and participates in appropriate problem solving methods
