    Central Park South OB/GYN Associates is seeking a full time Medical Assistant. Our practice is currently seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support and assist our Doctor and Nurse Practitioner. This is an ideal job for those applying to Medical School, Nurse Practitioner (NP) School, or Physician Assistant (PA) School.

    We are a boutique Obstetrics and Gynecology office and Med Spa, consisting of several providers with a high volume of patients, located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. This position primarily involves patient interaction and requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, phlebotomy, etc. The candidate must be energetic, and willing to go the extra mile in the care of our patients. Spanish speaking is a plus.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

    Greets and screens telephone calls in pleasant and a professional manner; handles call or directs caller to appropriate person or area. Takes messages and transfers calls appropriately.

    Schedules, confirms, re-schedules and cancels appointments for both new and existing patients using the scheduling application.

    Responsible for front-end revenue cycle processes, which may include but is not limited to, the check-in/check-out of patients and collection/reconciliation of time-of-service payments, as applicable, or refer patients to our billing department for consultation.

    Takes and documents vital signs in Electronic Medical Record

    Phlebotomy

    Assists doctors and Nurse Practitioners during minor surgical procedures.

    Enters lab orders per Doctor, Nurse practitioners instruction into Electronic Medical Record.

    Retrieves results on Electronic Medical Records .

    Maintains supplies and cleanliness of space, restocks supplies as needed. Notifies supervisor of any shortage of supplies.

    Handles stressful situations with little or no supervision; functions as a respectful member of the team.

    Maintains confidentiality on matters to which they are privileged.

    Answers patient questions to ensure understanding and patient satisfaction.

    Maintains cooperative and professional relationships with physicians, nurses and office staff.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Present to work on time.

    Has an excellent work ethic.

    Has interest in aesthetics.

    Qualified Applicants:

    To qualify you must have a High School diploma. College diploma is a plus.

    Experience with aesthetics including Laser Hair Removal and other laser based treatments is a plus.

    At least 1 year of relevant medical clerical experience within the field of OB/GYN.

    Must include prior physician practice experience and knowledge of medical terminology.

    Background in computer literacy required. Light, accurate keyboarding skills required. Knowledge of computer-based scheduling and appointment programs. Excellent telephone skills.

    Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills required.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Spanish is a plus.
