  • Responsibilities

    InterMetro Industries is seeking an on-site Intern our Information Technology department located in Wilkes-Barre, PA.  The Intern will be responsible for assisting our IT Department with a variety of Help Desk and end user related tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn new technologies in addition to opportunities in software application development.  This temporary assignment will require approximately 15 hours per week. The temporary assignment will begin October 2021 and end August 2022. 

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Answering basic Help Desk calls such as password resets and PC troubleshooting, PC moves, basic writing, administering upgrades, repairs, and enhancements to the various computers, devices, and software.
    • Assist the technical applications and help desk team with troubleshooting issues pertaining to local workstations, printers, mobile devices (smartphones), and file shares.
    • Engage 3rd party vendors for equipment repairs
    • Install and configure applications for end-users
    • Educate end-users about various applications and platforms
    • Lifting and transporting PC's and accessories

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:   

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Associates, Vocational or Technical Degree Preferred
    • Self-Motivated, organized, eager to learn
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Technologies (Office Applications, Windows 10)
    • Knowledge of Computer Hardware
    • Working knowledge of IOS, Android mobile services
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
