Job Description
OJT COORDINATOR AND BUSINESS SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
Responsible for day to day supervision of the Agency On the Job Training Performance Measures and assists job developing and agency marketing efforts. Helps develop and positively executes program processes, procedures, and systems. Develop action plans with staff that include OJT benchmarks in conjunction with placement, and employment retention, in addition to providing additional administration support for the team that includes documentation and reporting requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Adheres to the mission and Core Values of SER/SERCO.
Oversees day to day program operations for OJTs.
Creation of a Coordinator of OJT Programs and Communications for Ser programs.
Assists Industry Staffing Specialists (ISS’s) with case notes, IWDS entries, administrative support and reporting requirements with regard to OJTs.
Ensures proper implementation of OJT’s per Cook County Workforce Partnership (CCWP)
Monitors activities, services, and other events taking place with the agency benchmarks for on-the job trainings.
Acts as the person of contact and liaison to outside community based organizations, schools, partners, and employers for on-the-job trainings options.
Works with Upper Management to evaluate effectiveness and develop improvement plans and make programmatic changes for OJTs.
Assists in completing monthly reports that include, placements, retention and OJTs.
Performs training provider/employment visits to develop OJTs
Performs follow-up with employers after placement an OJTs and performs periodic site visits
Works in partnerships with appropriate public and private agencies that provide services including recruitment and outreach activities with schools, street, community- and faith-based organizations.
Assists in securing employment verifications.
Provide quality control guidelines to the OJT process and its implementation, OJT paperwork, training implementation, monitoring sessions, its execution, required data collection, its invoicing, and its reimbursement to employers
Maintains working knowledge of all program statements of work and performance goals.
Review all OJT Agreements, Skills Acquisition Training Outlines (SATO), and its implementation with employers, such as hours and skills to be acquired.
Develop and create a cohesive marketing brand for OJT program and other necessary material for OJT service for both workforce centers
Maintains communication and a positive relationship with other team members.
Must be willing to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
Attends all staff meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must demonstrate competency in the designated field and posses a BA/BS degree in related field, and/or two years related work experience including case management, academic or vocational training, including experience with at-risk youth
Experience with the WIA (Workforce Investment Act) program, specifically case management and working with IWDS (Illinois Workforce Development System)
Must be willing to obtain official transcripts for all degrees and/or credits
Excellent communication skills
Access to a vehicle and valid Illinois driver’s license
Willingness to travel locally and work flexible hours
Proficiency in computer applications.

Bilingual (Spanish)
Knowledge of employment and training programs
Some supervisory and/or management experience (2 years)
