    Job Description

    Central States Health & Welfare and Pension Funds are two of the largest nonprofit multi-employer trust funds in the country administering health and pension benefits to Teamster members and participants.

    The Staff Auditor position is a great first step to begin (or reboot) your career. The Staff Auditor position includes a 35 hour work week with some work from home flexibility. The position requires less than 30% travel (no weekends), though during COVID travel has been limited.     RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in planning and preparing the audit, which entails gathering and analyzing information related to the employer being audited, identifying problem areas and outlining the audit procedures to be performed.
    • Conduct the audit of the employer's records to ensure contributions have been properly remitted.
    • Calculate any audit findings and document findings, procedures, and issues encountered while performing the audit. Assist in resolving and processing findings.
    • Prepare written correspondence including, but not limited to, engagement letter packets, pre audit and post audit correspondence.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Capable of performing detailed, analytical work with accuracy
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business (emphasis in Accounting or Finance preferred)
