    POSITION: Financial Services Representative

    SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

    Assist members with loan origination and processing and other financial services. Provide account information by phone or in person within credit union policy, as well as information on the full range of credit union products and services. Open accounts for members, resolve issues, and professionally handle the member’s daily needs.

    FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

    Essential Functions:

    Ensure the member’s experience is courteous, attentive and efficient at all times, and all member relations included, but not limited to complaints, concerns, problems, etc. are resolved quickly and efficiently.

    Open new accounts (Savings, Checking, Christmas, Money Investment, Special Shares and Share Certificates).

    Perform loan duties including loan interviewing and processing.

    Set up new account files, and provide members with all necessary information for membership.

    Check and verify CIPs taken from fellow staff.

    Assist members with their accounts via phone, e-mail and in person.

    Reset user ID and logon for home banking.

    Issue Debit cards and ATM cards.

    Set up safe deposit boxes for members.

    Perform routine transactions for members via phone and face to face.

    Add and remove joint owners and beneficiaries.

    Cross sell credit union products.

    Understand and is accountable for executing all job functions in a way that is consistent with all requirements of BSA, OFAC and the USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP). Note: Failure to comply with requirements may be subject to strong disciplinary action, up to and including termination by the credit union, as well as, civil and criminal penalties.

    Perform Notary duties.

    Mail out welcome letters.

    Research Legacy Check orders.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Competencies:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

    Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills essential for projecting a positive image as representative of the Credit Union.

    Requires judgment to solve day-to-day problems but usually within established guidelines.

    At least one year of cash-handling experience, preferably as a teller.

    Work requires basic knowledge of credit union software, Word and Excel.

    Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).

    May require travel for training as required by the credit union.

    Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, as well as use of internet and e-mail.

    Must be familiar with home banking and bill paying services.

    Exceptional oral and written communication skills required.

    Education:

    High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED).

    Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

    Must successfully complete BSA training as required

    Employee must be bondable (insurable)

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and occasional Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
