    SUMMARY

    Century Hospitality, a growing hospitality management company with 1 full and 9 select service properties located in the Greater Pittsburgh region (including northern WV and eastern OH), and its affiliate Century Equities, Inc., a real estate partnership management firm, are looking for a Vice President of Accounting to administer, direct and control the operations of the finance and accounting team, sharing responsibility for all accounting, accounts payable, payroll and financial reporting functions. This position will be primarily based in the Wheeling, WV corporate office. This position will report directly to ownership.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Supervise all Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll personnel and functions

    Implement new processes and systems during potential high growth period and entrance into F&B industry

    Manage, monitor and review the month end accounting close process to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained

    Analyze and review the month end management reports for accuracy

    Monitor and review for accuracy the general ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting for all entities

    Review monthly Accounts Receivable aging reports, identify any issues and ensure follow up by responsible parties

    Prepare various financial reports for both internal and external users

    Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls

    Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting

    Coordinate the preparation of the annual tax returns with third party preparers

    Determine accounting policies and procedures by researching and interpreting accounting guidance

    Communicate with co-workers and management in a courteous and professional manner

    Other special projects and responsibilities as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor’s Degree in business or accounting and 3 to 5 years of experience

    Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

    Must have experience managing a team

    Knowledge of GAAP and experience in financial reporting

    Hotel accounting or real estate accounting experience is a plus

    Familiarity with the Uniform Systems of Accounts for the Lodging Industry is a plus

    Conscientious and able to work independently with minimal direction from manager

    Excellent communication and problem solving skills

    Proficient in Excel and Word

    Ability to meet assigned deadlines

    Detail oriented and organized
