Opportunity:

Century Hospitality is seeking an experienced Executive Chef for the TRYP by Wyndham hotel and its three food and beverage outlets—Over Eden, Brick Shop, and Brick Café, plus about 2,000 feet event space. The TRYP is in the heart of what money Magazine and Lonely Planet have recently dubbed “Americas Coolest Neighborhood”—Lawrenceville, PA. Lawrenceville is at the heart of Pittsburgh's renaissance and is known as haven and destination for artists, local shops, and the some of the most innovative restaurants on Pittsburgh's flourishing culinary scene.

This is a tremendous opportunity in one of the region’s premier neighborhoods.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the organization of the all kitchen operations in alignment with the restaurants’ culinary visions;

Guide the restaurant concepts, while working within the parameters of the hotel, with an eye on ensuring the overall success of both hotel and restaurant operations;

Provide leadership and management for the culinary department by establishing efficient systems and processes to ensure the standards set forth by ownership are executed.

Requirements

Proven success as a culinarian and solid experience as Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant setting or hotel environment;

4 years culinary management experience;

Proven understanding of expense control;

Experience in purchasing and inventory systems;

Strong understanding of Excel and point of sale systems;

Demonstrated passion for seasonal cooking and sourcing;

Eagerness to nurture and develop a team of devoted sous chefs, cooks, dishwashers and service staff;

Fluent in controlling labor and operating expenses and must have experience in banquets and seasonal menu writing;

Fluent in market trends and successful contemporary food models;

Qualified candidates must be able to demonstrate:

Highest level of integrity, creativity and work ethic

Solid social skill as a representative for the culinary brand

Professionalism in and out of the kitchen

Mature management skills
