    International hotel brand seeks Server Assistant / Food Runner in the heart of what Money Magazine and Lonely Planet have recently dubbed "America's Coolest Neighborhood".

    Lawrenceville is at the heart of Pittsburgh's renaissance and is known as haven and destination for artists, local shops, and the some of the most innovative restaurants on Pittsburgh's flourishing culinary scene.

    The boutique hotel will house a new restaurant in timeless venue with a simple straightforward contemporary menu with an upscale wine program, a barista and wine retail shop, and a second restaurant/bar located on the rooftop featuring vibrant bar program with plates to share and focused on clean, simple, local ingredients.

    The hotel brand caters to business and leisure travelers in cosmopolitan cities including Madrid and Barcelona in Spain; Paris, France; Lisbon, Portugal; Frankfurt and Berlin, Germany; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Brisbane, Australia and New York City, U.S.

    SUMMARY

    Under general supervision, restocks and replenishes food service supplies, runs food to correct tables using correct table and position numbers, assists waitstaff and removes and resets tables.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Maintain proper set-up of dining room & expo line.

    Perform opening and closing duties. Assist with opening/running/closing side work to include cleaning, stocking, and prepping service ware.

    Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting. Promptly and consistently reset all service ware.

    Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.

    If scheduled as food runner not server assistant, setting up expo line with the chef’s direction.

    If scheduled as a food runner, running food to the dining area while presenting the dishes to the correct table, in the correct order and to the correct position number.

    Assist server with food & beverage service to ensure guest satisfaction.

    Assist in the setting up of service stations.

    Assisting the bar staff in cleaning, clearing and setting tables

    REQUIREMENTS

    Follow all The TRYP Hotel’s policies and procedures.

    Comply with the "clean as you go" policy.

    Report to work on time and in proper uniform.

    Report to work complying with all appearance standards.

    Must be aware of work schedule.

    Follow associate meal schedule.

    Must be able to work quickly

    Follow safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe working environment.

    Honor all work-related requests made by a manager or supervisor, which may or may not be outside normal duties, to ensure guest satisfaction.

    Check out with immediate supervisor before leaving the work area.

    NOTICE: The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All employees must realize this fact and be aware that, at all times, it may be necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift, as business demands. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
