Certified Athletic Trainer
Job Description
Injury Prevention:
Develop and implement injury prevention programs, including stretching, strengthening, and conditioning exercises.
Educate athletes, coaches, and parents on injury prevention strategies.
Ensure a safe playing environment by monitoring field conditions and equipment.
Injury Evaluation and Treatment: * Conduct thorough evaluations of athletic injuries. * Provide immediate care for acute injuries, including first aid and emergency management. * Develop and implement rehabilitation programs for injured athletes. * Utilize therapeutic modalities, such as ice, heat, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound, as appropriate.
Rehabilitation: * Design and implement individualized rehabilitation programs to return athletes to full participation. * Monitor athlete progress and adjust rehabilitation programs as needed. * Communicate with coaches and parents regarding athlete status and return-to-play timelines. * Coordinate with Physical Therapists
Administrative Duties: * Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records. * Coordinate physician referrals and follow-up care. * Inventory and maintain athletic training supplies and equipment. * Communicate effectively with coaches, athletes, parents, and school administration. * Work within the scope of practice as defined by the state of Virginia
Attend practices and home games as determined by the athletic director, within the 20-hour-per-week scope.
