We are currently seeking a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our dietary team and ensure nutritional excellence for our residents.

    Position Summary:

    The Certified Dietary Manager will oversee all aspects of dietary services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and that all Veterans receive meals that meet their nutritional needs. This position plays a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of our residents through safe, sanitary, and high-quality food service.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Plan, organize, and direct dietary department operations in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations

    • Supervise, schedule, and train dietary staff to ensure quality service

    • Ensure that resident meals are nutritious, appealing, and tailored to medical/dietary needs

    • Monitor kitchen sanitation, food handling, and storage procedures in compliance with ServSafe standards

    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams and Registered Dietitian Nutritionists to support individualized nutrition plans

    • Maintain accurate records for inventory, dietary preferences, and staff training

    • Manage dietary budget and control costs while maintaining quality

    Required Qualifications:

    • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification (active and in good standing)

    • ServSafe Certification (current and valid)

    • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED

    • At least 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory food service role in a long-term care or healthcare setting

    • Strong leadership and communication skills

    • Knowledge of nutrition, dietary regulations, and safe food practices (especially in Veteran-focused or government-regulated facilities)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with care planning, and dietary documentation standards

    • Knowledge of special diets for common Veteran health concerns (e.g., diabetes, heart disease, renal issues)

    • Experience with dietary software systems
