    Under the direct supervision of our Urologist and/or Medical Oncologist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care, promoting efficient workflow, and ensuring smooth operations within our clinical settings. This role will require regular travel between our Richmond Hill and Brooklyn locations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in venipuncture and comfortable performing blood draws, along with a wide range of clinical and administrative support tasks.

    In addition, the CMA must be willing to learn and assist with urodynamics procedures, bladder scans, catheterizations, and other urology-specific diagnostic tests. Comprehensive training will be provided, and you will work closely with our providers to ensure accurate test performance, patient comfort, and adherence to clinical protocols.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms, ensuring a positive and efficient patient experience.

    Record patient data prior to physician visits, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.

    Obtain and organize all required patient records prior to treatment or procedures to ensure physicians have the necessary information.

    Prepare examination rooms and medical equipment, ensuring they are sterile and properly maintained.

    Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with exams, procedures, and treatments as needed, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

    Support the Urologist in performing urodynamics studies, bladder scans, uroflowmetry, catheter insertions/removals, and other related tests. Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, ensuring privacy, and maintaining a calm and professional environment.

    Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection according to established protocols. Handle specimens with precision, adhering to safety and labeling standards.

    Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated by the RN, NP, or physician.

    Maintain exam and treatment room cleanliness by following strict disinfection protocols.

    Answer patient phone calls, schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and manage patient communications as directed by the physician, RN or Senior MA.

    Assist with phoning in prescriptions and coordinating medication requests, as directed by the physician or Senior MA.

    Inform physicians about patient reschedules, no-shows, and other schedule-related changes.

    Perform other administrative duties, including typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception tasks, and assisting with other duties as requested by the physician or supervisor.

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    High school diploma or equivalent.

    Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.

    1-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist.

    Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required within 3 months of hire.

    Must be willing to travel between Richmond Hill and Brooklyn locations as part of the regular schedule.

    Proficiency in venipuncture/blood draws is required.

    Phlebotomy certification is a plus.

    Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred.

    Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting.

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.

    Requires fine motor skills for tasks such as administering medications, taking vital signs, and performing wound care.

    Ability to see, hear, and touch to perform job duties effectively.

    Potential exposure to infectious diseases, biohazardous materials, and chemical agents.

    Moderate noise level, often due to patient monitoring equipment and staff interactions.
