About the Role:
Join Cardiovascular Associates of San Antonio as a Certified Medical Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care. Be part of a dedicated team that values compassion and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist physicians with patient examinations and procedures.
Perform routine clinical tasks, including taking vital signs and medical histories.
Responsible for preparing charts well in advance before appointment and have records
Request Hospital Records/ Procedure reports/ Test results for follow up appointments
Cross Train in Front Desk Responsibilities and rotation schedule as needed
Knowledge in management of Chronic Care Management and Transition Care Management
Coordinate Surgical Scheduling for patient procedures in facilities
Coordinate patient scheduling and provide instructions prior to scheduled procedures
Manage patient records and ensure accurate documentation in electronic health systems.
Coordinate patient appointments and follow-up care.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
Educate patients on treatment plans and health management.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes.
Willing to travel to rural clinic on a weekly basis.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; CMA certification required.
Proven experience as a medical assistant in a clinical setting.
Experience in Cardiology Specialty practice.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Compassionate demeanor and a patient-centered approach.
Current CPR certification is a plus.
Current Driver's license and valid liability insurance
Reliable transportation / flexible schedule to travel with clinic team.
Bilingual Spanish preferred.
