    Job Summary

    The Children's Clinic of Fredericksburg seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team! Under the direction of the Operations Administrator, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is a multi-skilled health professional who works interdependently with other health professionals to provide quality health care to our pediatric patients and their families. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The incumbent must work collaboratively with all Clinical services staff in support of direct patient services, exhibiting flexibility and a “can do” attitude. As a Medical Assistant, you will be preparing for each patient visit by preparing charts, pulling notes, and assisting with keeping track of vaccines, tests, and lab reporting to ensure everything arrives on time and the patient is kept informed on their condition and care. You will also be helping manage the inventory of medical supplies, setting up machines and testing equipment, and cleaning instruments and rooms as needed. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, an interest in learning more about a working medical environment, and has previous office experience.

    You must be available for shifts between 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM during weekdays and on rotating weekends, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

    Pediatric experience preferred. Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize work duties required.

    Responsibilities

    Prepare for the patient visit, including pulling charts and notes, as well as setting up medical equipment

    Clean instruments and equipment after use

    Answer phones and field questions about medical issues, identifying visit needs

    Assist providers with basic medical care and procedures

    Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle medical back office duties

    Qualifications

    BLS Certification and Certified Medical Assistant desired

    Lab experience and vaccine administration are strongly desired
