Responsibilities: • Complete the patient’s insurance forms in their records, notating all symptoms, test results, diagnoses, treatment instructions, and prescriptions • Document the patient’s vital signs including respiration rate, blood pressure, respiration rate, and pulse and write down the information in their chart • Collect blood samples from patients and send to the lab for testing • Assist healthcare staff with examinations by handing the appropriate medical instrument and supplies to the physician, positioning the patient, and helping with other tasks as needed • Get examination rooms ready for patients by ensuring the rooms are well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature and all equipment is sterilized • Learn clinic computer hardware and software and use them according to company policies • Comply with patient needs at all times and ensure all questions are answered • Organize medical records, laboratory results, and progress notes to ensure that the healthcare provider has all of the available and necessary information during patient encounters • Assist with the Front Desk as necessary Qualifications: • At least 1 year of previous experience as a medical assistant performing administrative duties or similar role in a healthcare work environment • Solid communication and customer service skills • High school graduate or has GED • Ability use a computer to complete administrative tasks • Has Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency • Previous experience in a medical or primary care group practice or similar situations is preferred • Customer service-oriented and passionate about helping patients • Possesses clinical skills • Electronic Medical Records and/or Electronic Health Records experience preferred (eClinical) • Proficient in medical terminology preferred • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Job Type: Full-Time • Schedule: 8-Hour Per Day • Five Days Per Week • In-Person Compensation: $19 - $22 hourly
