    Great Work Environment This is a small, but busy, well-established, private primary care office. You will be one of two people in this position. References are a must. You will be working with one MD and one PA-C. Our website is www.doughertymdpa.com We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team.

    This is a full-time, on-site role for a Certified Medical Assistant located in Charlotte, NC. The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the medical team by assisting with patient care, using an understanding of medical terminology, maintaining medical records, and managing tasks in the medical office. Daily tasks include taking patient histories, preparing patients for examinations, taking vital signs, and performing EKGs under physician direction. Additionally, the role involves responding to patient questions as directed by the providers, managing patient flow, and ensuring the examination rooms are well-stocked.

    Qualifications:

    • Skills in Medical Assisting, including taking patient histories and preparing patients for examinations.
    • Proficiency in Medical Terminology.
    • Experience working in a Medical Office and managing administrative tasks.
    • Competency in Patient Care, such as administering injections, and knowledge of medications.
    • Ability to maintain accurate Medical Records.
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) accreditation required.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare for the patient visit, including pulling charts and notes, as well as setting up medical equipment.
    • Clean instruments and equipment after use.
    • Respond to phone calls and voicemails as directed by the provider.
    • Field questions regarding medical issues as directed by the providers while identifying visit needs.
    • Assist providers with basic medical care and procedures.
    • Track lab results, call in prescriptions, and handle basic medical office duties.
    • Obtain prior authorizations for testing, procedures and medications. The chosen candidate must be willing to have drug testing and a background check.
