You’ll be responsible for welcoming patients, scheduling appointments and work closely with our healthcare staff to take patient histories, collect test samples, and help with examinations. Responsibilities: • Get examination rooms ready for patients by ensuring the rooms are well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature and all equipment is sterilized • Help healthcare staff during examination by handing the correct supplies and medical instruments to the physician, positioning the patient, and assisting with other tasks as needed • Take the patient’s vital signs including their pulse, body temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure and record it in their chart • Draw blood and prepare blood samples for laboratory tests • Speak with the patient about the reason for their visit and record their personal information and medical history to share with the healthcare staff • Provide medication as instructed by providers and protocol Qualifications: • Strong communication skills and customer service skills • Over 1 year of work experience as a medical assistant performing admin duties or similar role in a healthcare work environment • High school diploma or GED • Passed Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam to obtain certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or other certifying agency • Completed an accredited medical assisting program and an externship in a supervised healthcare setting Compensation: $20 - $25 hourly
