Responsibilities
· Provide prenatal care, including physical examinations, prenatal testing, counseling and education to pregnant patients.
· Admits, manages and delivers own OB patients.
· Assists physicians with C-sections and other surgeries.
· Appropriately and promptly recognizes and responds to the need for intervention and emergencies and refers to or obtains assistance from physicians.
· Conduct postpartum visits, including physical assessments, breastfeeding support and counseling on newborn care.
· Provide gynecological care, including exams, contraceptive counseling and treatment of common gynecological conditions.
· Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
· Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with regulatory standards
· Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with best practices and evidence-based care. Educate pregnant women with diabetes on the potential risks and complications associated with uncontrolled diabetes during pregnancy and the importance of tight glycemic control for maternal and fetal well-being.
Qualifications
· Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology or current certification as a Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
· Masters degree in Nursing
· At least a minimum of 1 year experience working as a CNM; 4 preferred
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
· Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
