Job Description: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/NAC/HCA)
Location: Adult Family Home, Vancouver, WA Employment Type: Full-Time 12-Hour Shifts: 7AM-7PM, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC), or Home Care Aide (HCA) to join our team in a warm, family-oriented adult family home in Vancouver, WA. The CNA/NAC/HCA will provide high-quality care, ensuring residents' physical, emotional, and social needs are met in a respectful and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care:
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
Provide mobility assistance, including transferring residents using proper techniques and equipment.
Perform Q2 (every 2-hour) turns when appropriate to prevent pressure sores and maintain resident comfort.
Monitor and report changes in residents' physical and emotional conditions to the supervisor
Perform occasional suctioning as a delegated task under supervision and training.
Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation levels
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, including cleaning rooms and ensuring proper sanitation.
Assist with meal preparation, serving, and ensuring dietary needs are met according to care plans, unless NPO (nothing by mouth) status applies.Ensure infection control standards are followed.
Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and other team members.
Encourage and participate in recreational and social activities tailored to residents’ preferences and abilities.
Accurately document care provided.
Communicate effectively with staff and families regarding residents' needs and progress.
Qualifications
● Certification: Must hold an active Washington State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC), or Home Care Aide (HCA) license.
● Experience: Previous experience in caregiving, preferably in an adult family home, assisted living, or similar setting is preferred but not required.
● Skills:
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Physical Requirements:
o Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents as needed (up to 50 lbs).
o Capability to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
● Current CPR and First Aid certification.
● Training or experience in dementia and memory care.
● Completion of a Nurse Delegation Course.
● Dementia and Mental Health Certificate
