Job Description: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Location: Iowa City Rehabilitation and Health Care Center

Shift: All shifts available (Morning, Evening, Overnight; 8 or 12-hour shifts)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
• Monitor residents' health and report any changes to nursing staff.
• Provide compassionate and respectful personal care to residents.
• Assist with mobility and transfers, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
• Document care provided in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Participate in resident care planning and team meetings.
• Support residents in social and recreational activities.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Foster a positive and nurturing environment for residents and their families.

Qualifications:

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Iowa.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Prior experience in a long-term care setting preferred but not required.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, move, and assist residents weighing up to 200 pounds.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Capability to perform repetitive tasks and remain on feet for extended periods.
