Celebrations Speech Group is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for an in-person, school-based role in Oakland, CA. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive, collaborative Special Education team in a district with below-average caseload sizes and a strong focus on student success.

As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide high-quality, individualized therapy services to students in elementary and/or middle school settings. Flexible full-time or part-timescheduling is available.

What You’ll Do

Provide direct occupational therapy services in person as outlined in students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising OT

Support fine motor, gross motor, sensory integration, and self-care skill development in a school environment

Document and store treatment plans, progress reports, and session notes accurately and on time

Update student progress and communicate with the OT and special education team

Collaborate with general education and special education staff to support student access to curriculum and daily activities

Participate in professional development and training as requested

What We’re Looking For

Required:

Current California COTA license through the California Board of Occupational Therapy

Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant studies

Ability to provide in-person services at school sites in Oakland, CA

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Preferred:

School-based experience

Familiarity with IEP implementation and documentation
