    ** Position Summary**

    This position qualifies for a one-time $2,000 signing bonus, paid in two installments upon commencement of the position and after 6 months of employment (subject to change).

    Under the supervision of the SSG Alliance Program Manager, the Peer Facilitator / Certified Peer Specialist provides peer support and facilitates recovery groups for individuals receiving services from Alliance. This role emphasizes mutual respect, empowerment, and shared lived experience as key tools to inspire hope and promote recovery. Services are delivered both on-site and in community-based settings.

    ** Essential Responsibilities**

    • Provide individual and group peer support services in accordance with peer service Core Competencies.
    • Facilitate on-site and off-site peer support groups for individuals in recovery from mental health and co-occurring diagnoses.
    • Support clients in identifying personal recovery goals , building skills, and increasing access to wellness resources.
    • Collaborate with clinical teams to develop and update individualized care plans.
    • Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and other legal/regulatory guidelines.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings , supervision, and required training sessions.
    • Complete and maintain all required documentation in alignment with DMH guidelines.
    • Accompany or encourage clients to attend community events and activities.
    • Submit billing and travel records in a timely manner.
    • Travel to multiple community sites is required.

    ** Required Qualifications**

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • ** Certified Peer Specialist (CPS)** credential (must be current or eligible).
    • Lived experience with mental health challenges and demonstrated recovery.
    • Strong communication skills—both verbal and written.
    • Professionalism and confidentiality when working with clients and staff.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
    • Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma-informed practices.
    • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, database entry).
    • Must have a valid driver’s license , reliable transportation, and proof of insurance or access to public transit.
    • Ability to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively.
    • Must pass a background check and employment eligibility verification.

    ** Preferred Qualifications**

    • One year of experience in a mental health, hospital, or human services setting.
    • Bilingual (Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, or Chinese) preferred.
    • Familiarity with DMH guidelines and documentation standards.
