    Position Summary We are seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist (Hybrid) to provide recovery-focused support, care coordination, and engagement services to individuals receiving behavioral health treatment. This role combines remote telehealth support with periodic in-person or community-based interaction, helping patients build coping skills, access resources, and remain connected to their care team. The ideal candidate is recovery-oriented, compassionate, organized, and experienced in behavioral health peer support services.

    Key Responsibilities

    Peer Support & Patient Engagement

    Provide individual peer support using lived experience and recovery principles

    Encourage hope, resilience, self-advocacy, and wellness planning

    Assist patients with goal setting, coping strategies, and community reintegration

    Support adherence to treatment plans and appointment attendance

    Care Coordination

    Collaborate with therapists, psychiatric providers, and care team members

    Assist with referrals to community resources, housing, employment, and social services

    Conduct follow-up outreach and wellness check-ins

    Document services accurately within the EMR

    Telehealth & Hybrid Support

    Deliver services via secure telehealth platforms

    Participate in occasional in-person meetings, trainings, or community outreach (as applicable)

    Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional boundaries at all times

    Qualifications

    Required

    Active Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) credential in North Carolina

    Personal lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery

    High school diploma or equivalent

    Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills

    Ability to work in a hybrid (remote + in-person/community) environment

    Basic computer skills and EMR documentation ability

    Preferred

    Experience in mental health, substance use, or behavioral health settings

    Knowledge of community resources and recovery systems of care

    Experience providing telehealth peer support

    CPR/First Aid certification
