Memorial Hermann Surgery Center Pinecroft is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician (SPD Tech) to support our surgical team and help ensure patient safety through the proper sterilization and preparation of surgical instruments.
Located in The Woodlands, TX , our center is a joint venture between physicians, United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and Memorial Hermann Health System. About the Role
The Certified SPD Tech plays a critical role behind the scenes by ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated, sterilized, and ready for use. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and passionate about upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control in the surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves, washers, ultrasonic cleaners)
- Monitor and document sterilization parameters and biological indicators for quality assurance
- Maintain proper inventory levels of sterile supplies and instrumentation
- Assist with case cart preparation and timely turnover between surgical cases
- Adhere to all infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with OR staff to anticipate instrument needs and support efficient surgical flow

Required Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD or CRCST) required
- Prior experience in a sterile processing department or hospital/ASC setting preferred
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and OR workflows is a plus
