** Teacher Assistant - Special Education School - Non-public**

United Staffing Solutions, a leader in the staffing industry is representing a well-established, private, K-12 special education school in their search for a Teacher Assistant. This is a direct hire, permanent position for a year-round (12-month) special education program. Positions starting ASAP.

** Location:** Roosevelt Island (between Queens and Manhattan along the F/M-train line).

** Salary:** $40,000 with excellent benefits package included.

** Schedule:** Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays 7:55am-2:40pm, Tuesdays 7:55am-3:30pm and Wednesdays 7:55am-4pm.

** Responsibilities of the Teacher Assistant:**

• Implementing daily instruction, activities, and behavior strategies
• Supporting students in their school activities
• Teaching skills that are targeted goals for each student with support from the Head/Lead teacher

** Requirements for the Teacher Assistant**

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Must have NYS Teacher Assistant Certificate
• At least 1 year of experience working with special needs children in a special education setting
• Experience working with children with developmental disabilities and other related disorders preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
