⭐ About the Role
We are seeking an inspiring Welding Instructor to train, mentor, and empower students ages 16–24 at the Pine Knot Job Corps Center. This is a full-time, year-round role teaching real-world welding skills that lead to employment and industry certifications.
You will run a fully equipped welding shop and classroom—helping students build confidence, discipline, and employable skills.
🔥 What You’ll Do
Teach hands-on welding techniques: ARC, MIG, TIG (aluminum & stainless), Flux Core
Deliver engaging instruction in safety, blueprint reading, measurements, and proper tool use
Guide students through AWS-aligned Training Achievement Records (TARs)
Maintain a clean, safe, OSHA-compliant welding shop
Mentor and motivate at-risk youth toward independence and career success
Support career readiness and job placement efforts
Track student attendance, progress, and skills mastery

🛠 Required Certifications & Experience
To be considered, candidates must have:
American Welding Society (AWS) Certification
Certification and hands-on experience in:
Arc Welding
Flux Core Welding
Aluminum TIG
Stainless Steel TIG
Strong communication and instructional skills
Patience, leadership, and a genuine desire to help young people grow
Ability to model professionalism, safety, and positive work habits
Experience teaching or training is preferred—but a great attitude and strong welding skills matter most.
