    CESIUMASTRO is a rapidly growing space technology startup in Austin, Texas, developing out-of-the-box communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.     We are looking to add an ILLUSTRATOR, INDUSTRIAL DESIGN to our team. If you are great at what you do, enjoy working in a startup environment, and have talent and a good work ethic, we would like to hear from you.

    In this position, you will work closely with Cesium executives and engineers to develop visually appealing support documentation, layouts and illustrations for branding, marketing materials, data sheets, hardware prototypes, and electronic media.

    The IDEAL CANDIDATE will be highly detail-oriented with respect to aesthetics, resourceful, and exhibit prodigious analytical skills, artistic ability, electronic graphic arts skills, mechanical skills, and creative problem-solving skills.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Evaluate product use cases and anticipate customer needs.
    • Use CAD software and the Adobe Suite to create models and 3D product renderings and presentations.
    • Develop beautiful marketing materials.
    • Create physical prototype designs.
    • Examine materials and production costs to determine manufacturing requirements.
    • Work with engineers and manufacturers to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of designs.
    • Evaluate product appearance and function to determine design practicality.
    • Present designs and prototypes for stakeholder approval.

    SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL REQUIRE, AS A MINIMUM:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design (or equivalent), Architecture, or Engineering
    • Electronic portfolio with examples of remarkable design renderings
    • Ability to read and interpret schematics and component data sheets
    • High proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks preferred
    • High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
    • Organizational and time management skills
    • Written and verbal communication skills

    PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES INCLUDE:

    • Experience in the aerospace industry (avionics preferred)
    • Experience working within a corporate brand
