    Job Description

    SUMMARY:

    The Mechanical/Process Engineer will provide design and development support to the Displays and Optical Products business units.  Responsibilities may include performing engineering analysis and calculation, and developing manufacturing practices, processes, procedures, tools and equipment for production.  The position requires broad technical experience in a fast-growing manufacturing environment; also experience in SolidWorks 3D modeling and creating technical drawings to support sustaining engineering and new product development.  The position will also provide hands-on support to the Quality Engineering department to perform in MRB, First article Inspection review and preparation, optical equipment calibration and other Quality functions.

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Support the design of electro-mechanical assemblies and optical components
    • Create 3D SolidWorks part and assembly models and detailed drawings for manufacturing and assembly
    • Work closely with product development teams to ensure products are designed for manufacturability.
    • Support manufacturing by addressing technical issues on the floor that are related to design.
    • Develop and maintain work instructions, process control procedures and operating procedures.
    • Improve existing and new manufacturing processes and equipment
    • Establish appropriate methods, tools, equipment, etc. required to produce products in keeping with the Quality Management System and related AS9100 standards
    • Analyze defect and root cause and propose corrective action
    • Provide hands-on support to production line, QA and Design engineering for all matters
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
    • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a manufacturing/process engineering role
    • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and resolve technical problems
    • Basic SolidWorks knowledge required
    • Knowledge of basic electronics and programming a plus
    • Knowledge of Military environmental specifications and aerospace lighting specifications is a plus
    • Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis, supporting corrective action system, reviewing NCR, and coordinating MRB for disposition
    • Effective written/verbal communication skills; computing skills (Windows, Microsoft Office)
