Job Title: Channel Letter Fabricator Department: Production / Fabrication Reports To: Production Manager / Shop Supervisor Location: 1090 W Eads Pkwy, Lawrenceburg, IN 47025
Job Summary: The Channel Letter Fabricator is responsible for assembling custom channel letter signs and related components according to specifications. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in metalworking, plastics, and lighting systems, particularly LED installations. Fabricators must be able to read and interpret technical drawings, operate fabrication equipment, and maintain high quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities: • Fabricate channel letters and custom signage using materials such as aluminum, acrylic, and polycarbonate. • Operate shop equipment including SDS Coil Bender, shear, drills, and hand tools. • Assemble sign components including faces, returns, backs, and trim cap. • Install and wire LED lighting components inside channel letters. • Read and interpret prints, and shop drawings to ensure accurate fabrication. • Measure and cut materials according to specifications. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. • Perform quality checks on all fabricated pieces before they proceed to finishing or installation. • Assist in packaging and prepping signs for shipping or installation. • Work with other departments to ensure production deadlines are met.
Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in fabrication or welding is a plus. • Minimum 1–2 years experience in sign fabrication, especially with channel letters. • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements. • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery. • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring (LED lighting in signage preferred). • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship. • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Skills: • Familiarity with UL requirements for electrical signage.
