    Job Description

     

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Process Control Network (PCN) Lead will report into the Refinery Business Improvement Organization. This position will support the downstream business units in the areas of refinery industrial control systems, process control, human machine interface, human factors, alarm management, and managing relationships with key vendors. This position provides leadership, technical expertise and ownership of process control activities across Refining and guidance for the Process Control Network (PCN).

     

    DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

    Ø  Leading and promoting the Process Control Network across the company to enhance knowledge sharing through participation on technical networks, project reviews, and technology evaluations.

    Ø  Technical resource for the Process Control System hardware and applications.

    Ø  Own and maintain a corporate test bed.

    Ø  Developing key strategies such as Virtualization, Migrations, Controller performance improvement, procedure automation and alarm management.

    Ø  Leading and promoting the development of Required Standards, Refining Engineering Practices (REPs), Directives, Best Practices and Guidelines.

    Ø  Developing and communicating key performance indicators to drive profitability and continuous improvement in the areas of automation and advanced applications.

    Ø  Providing expertise in the design and implementation of Industrial Control System Networks and data interfaces.

    Ø  Facilitate the identification, development, sharing, and implementation of training for process control support roles.

    Ø  Participating in vendor advisory board meetings and technical standards committees.

    Ø  Participating in the development and execution of vendor Master Software License, Maintenance and Service Agreements, supporting contracts and preferred supplier agreements.

    Ø  Ensure that all Refining Business Units are informed of and are addressing Process Control System technical advisories and alerts (e.g. Honeywell Be-Aware Advisories).

    Ø  Work in conjunction with the Refining Cybersecurity Lead and Director ICS Network Support and Cybersecurity roles in the identification and implementation of leveraged services between IT and ICS.

    Ø  Participate in Field Instrument Network (FIN) and Refining Cybersecurity Network (RCN) in Process Control related activities and workgroups.

     

    REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

    Ø  Associate’s Degree or higher in Engineering or Science.

    Ø  10 or more years of extensive experience with Honeywell control system equipment, at least 5 of which with Experion.

    Ø  Has participated in an On-Process Migration Activity in some role.

    Ø  Has implemented or maintained a virtualized platform for level 2 or level 3 devices.

    Ø  Knowledgeable in Process Control Configuration practices and methodologies.

    Ø  Knowledgeable in Ethernet networks, network topologies, communication protocols and information management systems (PC’s, firewalls, switches, routers, servers, operating systems).

    Ø  Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point and ability to present information in a graphic format.

    Ø  Maintain a valid driver’s license.

    Ø  Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

    Preferred:

    Ø  Knowledgeable of the Emerson DeltaV control system.

    Ø  10 or more years of experience with instrumentation.

    Ø  Knowledgeable in control room ergonomic and human factors designs.

    Ø  Knowledgeable in Alarm Management.

    Ø  Knowledgeable in HMI design and Application.

    Ø  Knowledgeable in Process Control and Advanced Process Control.

    Ø  Able to accurately and clearly communicate both technical and practical information.

    Ø  Desire to learn, strengthen and build skills, and keep up with process control and instrumentation technology.

    Ø  Ability to work independently as well as work in a diverse team-based working environment.
