    Job Description

    JOB PURPOSE

    Under the supervision of the Sr. Manager of Legal Services and Compliance, the Compliance Specialist will ensure the organization remains up to date on compliance requirements in accordance with company, state, and federal regulations. The Specialist will develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures that keep a company's processes, and school sites operating in a legal and ethical manner.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain documentation of compliance activities, such as managing the compliance
    • Maintaining policy and procedure
    • File appropriate compliance and survey reports with state and federal
    • Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance
    • Responsible for preparing and delivering compliance-related training and communications to employees.
    • Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the impact of these changes on organizational processes.
    • Advise internal management on the implementation or operation of compliance
    • Participate in HR audits of personnel files.
    • Responsible for drafting policy, processes, and procedures to improve the compliance posture of the organization.
    • Responsible for the maintenance of OSHA and company-mandated reports on all accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
    • Research changes in laws and regulations analyze their impact on the organization and communicate findings to Executives.
    • Carry out employee relations investigations as needed.
    • Discreetly handle sensitive employee reports or information.
    • Consult with attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues.
    • Assist in developing training content (e.g., building PowerPoint decks, writing webinar outlines or scripts, creating supplemental training materials).
    • Prepare and/or review all mandated DOE reports as it relates to Human Resources functions.
    • Serve as the Liaison with Professional Standards when responding to requests for data and other audit-related needs.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's Degree in such fields as Human Resources, Legal Studies, or Business from an accredited college or university.
    • 3+ years of prior Human Resource Experience/or Paralegal
    • K-12 education experience is preferred
    • Experience with policy writing is preferred

    FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY

    Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
