    Job Description

     

    POSITION DESCRIPTION, QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

    Chartwell Staffing Solutions is looking for a proven Human Resources professional who will excel in a fast-paced environment supporting HR and Operations in multi-states managing all Benefits programs and initiatives as well as  assist with various HR Generalist responsibilities.  The position reports directly to the HR Manager and will be located in Southern California in the Norwalk, CA branch.

    Primary responsibilities will include the following:

    Benefits Scope (50%):

    • Work with benefits brokers, insurance carriers, HRIS platform and Payroll department in administering and managing employee benefits for all internal staff and field employees.
    • Complete Census audits/reporting for regulatory compliance.
    • Manage company Wellness team, programs and initiatives.
    • Enroll, process and update benefits and 401k deductions/changes, Cobra and NMSN forms/Court Orders and communicate to appropriate insurance carriers and Payroll department.
    • Reconcile all employee benefits invoices and communicate changes to appropriate insurance carriers and Payroll department.
    • Process all benefits premiums and communicate with various carriers and Corporate Finance department.
    • Assist internal staff and field employees with benefits information, inquiries and activities.
    • Work with third party regarding 401k audit and testing of the 401k plan for ERISA and other regulatory compliance.
    • Work with vendors regarding the annual 1094/1095 forms/process.
    • Manage benefits open enrollments with broker, insurance carriers and employees (both internal staff and field employees).

     

    HR Generalist Scope (50%):

    • Assign and track appropriate training to ensure compliance with Company initiatives and Federal/State requirements.
    • Assist with facilitating on-boarding processes for new internal staff employees to ensure a positive experience and welcome into the Company.
    • Assist with the hiring process of internal staff by facilitating pre-employment background checks & drug screening with third party vendor.
    • Process and file internal staff employment changes in the HRIS database.
    • Manage the HRIS platform and applications to ensure accurate and compliant tracking, auditing & reporting.  
    • Assist with the LOA process and/or paperwork for both internal staff and field employees.
    • Assist with audits to ensure regulatory and policy compliance across all locations.
    • Assist in responses to unemployment claims.

     

    Other:

    • Assist with general employee relations including proactive employee engagement activities. 
    • Redirect internal and external inquiries to appropriate team members.  
    • Comply with, understand, and promote corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
    • Other HR duties assigned as needed.

     

    Qualifications:

    ·         College degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.

    ·         A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Human Resources working in a fast-paced HR department.

    ·         Strong attention to detail and data integrity auditing skills.

    ·         Ability to work independently and have proven ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.

    ·         Possess strong multi-tasking and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

    ·         Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    ·         Knowledge of HR regulations and laws including ADA, FMLA, & FLSA.

    ·         The ability to establish high trust & develop professional, and respectful relationships with all employees to ensure the highest level of effectiveness as an HR professional.

    ·         Staffing industry experience is a plus.

    ·         Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
