    Checkwriters is looking for an IT Support Specialist to work alongside our IT Director! This is an in-office position at our Northampton, MA location that may require occasional travel.     On a typical day you will:

    • Serve as the primary person responsible for triaging, solving, and documenting IT support requests for technical and non-technical users.
    • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners.
    • Handle access requests and maintain user accounts.
    • Assist in installation of new equipment.
    • Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
    • Maintain an up-to-date and accurate hardware and software inventory.
    • Respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests.
    • Help test and deploy new technologies.
    • Travel as needed to client locations for IT hardware installation and support.

    Our ideal candidate will have:

    • Prior experience in a technology support role, with a functional knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Internet browsers and plugins, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and virus and system health monitoring and remediation.
    • Basic knowledge and understanding of Windows Active Directory, NTFS permissions, Microsoft Exchange, networking concepts, and VOIP systems.
    • Established problem solving and critical thinking skills.
    • Organization skills and be detail-oriented.
    • The ability to communicate, written and orally, to colleagues in a respectful and tactful manner.
    • An openness to learn, take on challenges, and grow technical and customer service skills.
