About the Role:

The Cheese Shop in Concord, MA is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Cheesemonger to join our team! This is a fantastic opportunity for a cheese enthusiast to share their love of artisan and specialty cheeses with a community of dedicated food lovers. If you thrive in a hands-on, customer-facing environment and have a nose for the finest fromage, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

Assist customers in selecting cheeses by providing expert guidance, tasting notes, and pairing recommendations

Cut, wrap, and portion domestic and imported specialty cheeses to order and for display cases

Maintain a well-stocked, visually appealing cheese counter with proper rotation and freshness standards

Monitor cheese aging, storage temperatures, and humidity to ensure optimal product quality

Build and curate charcuterie boards, cheese plates, and custom gift arrangements

Stay current on new and seasonal cheese offerings, producers, and industry trends

Receive and inspect incoming cheese shipments and manage inventory accurately

Requirements:

Prior experience in specialty cheese retail, fine food, or a related culinary field preferred but NOT necessary

Excellent customer service and communication skills with a warm, approachable demeanor

Comfortable standing for extended periods and handling/lifting product up to 40 lbs

Passion for specialty foods, local producers, and the art of cheesemongering
