Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious and appealing meals for students and staff, adhering to dietary guidelines and health standards. This role requires a passion for cooking, creativity in menu planning, and a commitment to ensuring the well-being of our school community.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook meals in accordance with the school’s menu plan, dietary requirements, and portion control standards.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper food storage and handling practices.

Assist in menu planning and development to accommodate various dietary needs and preferences.

Order, receive, and manage inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment.

Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation practices.

Collaborate with school administration and staff to ensure meal programs meet the needs of students and faculty.

Participate in special events and activities, providing catering services as needed.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role, preferably in a school or institutional setting.

Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques for large groups.

Understanding of dietary restrictions and the ability to accommodate special dietary needs.

Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is a plus.

Ability to pass a background check and any other relevant screenings.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.

Capacity to lift and carry heavy items, up to [specific weight, e.g., 50 pounds].

Tolerance for working in a warm kitchen environment.
