    Job Summary:

R & R Breakfast Spot is a family-owned brunch and breakfast restaurant known for our Southern-inspired comfort food, warm hospitality, and welcoming atmosphere. We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Chef to lead our kitchen team and help us continue delivering high-quality meals and memorable experiences.

The Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, staff supervision, and quality control. This role is perfect for someone who takes pride in their craft, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys being part of a family-run business that values teamwork and balance — with no late nights (we close at 3 PM).

    Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily kitchen operations to ensure food is prepared to the highest quality and consistency.

Lead, train, and inspire kitchen staff to maintain a positive and efficient work environment.

Execute signature Southern-style brunch dishes such as shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, and other menu favorites.

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Manage food inventory, ordering, and cost control to meet profit goals.

Ensure all dishes meet established presentation and portion standards.

Collaborate with ownership on menu updates, specials, and catering offerings.

Track waste, manage prep lists, and monitor production for peak hours.

Foster teamwork between the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.

    Qualifications:

3–5 years of experience as a Chef or Lead Cook in a high-volume restaurant.

    Strong leadership and communication skills.

Excellent understanding of food costing, prep management, and portion control.

Familiarity with Southern or soul food cuisine preferred.

Must maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety (ServSafe certification preferred).

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

    Work Schedule & Perks:

Full-time, daytime hours only (we close at 3 PM).

    Supportive, family-oriented environment.

Opportunity to shape menu specials and creative dishes.

    Competitive pay based on experience.
