We are sustainable and focus on delivering the best quality product. Our team prepares each order with care and follows all required safety standards for each order that is filled. We are currently looking to fill a position as Logistics Administrator in our Logistics department. The goal of our Logistics department is to operate in beneficial and productive methods to serve our customers and The Chef's Garden team as a whole. We accomplish this goal by providing the most reliable and cost effective shipping methods, along with providing the friendliest and most courteous customer service. Responsibilities include: * Manage the Logistics department in such a way to provide our customers with services that far exceeds expectations. * Provide an orderly, efficient and accurate flow of information to Sales, farm representatives, co-workers and to our customers. * Become familar with our products and constantly look for ways to improve and enhance knowledge in your area and/or in other areas of the farm. Essential Functions: * Develop the internal relations between Sales and Logistics with the goal to work in unison while taking care of the chef. * Monitor all outgoing orders to find alternative means of shipping to our customers at the best price without losing quality in service of delivery. * Find better means of delivery and better rates for equal or better service. Make available to the sales team up to date shipping rates and methods of shipping to all points in the U.S. and worldwide as needed. * Communicate with chefs and provide superior customer service to them on shipping needs and problems. Monitor all orders and notify chefs of any delay problems with possible solutions. * Develop lasting working relationships with short line carriers in all areas. * Develop excellent leadership skills. * Track overnight shipments for both inbound and outbound freight. * Oversee the entire Logistics operations and examine areas that need improvement and develop solutions with the goal to increase the efficiency and productivity of the Logistics department. * Oversee billing and request adjustments. * Ensure accuracy of shipping, track all shipments, keep salespersons informed of deliveries and contact customers with late deliveries. * Ensure there is proper recordkeeping and accounting of invoices, loading slips and shipping charges. * This position is, to a degree, sales and some orders will need to be taken and entered into the order system for processing. * Verify and run pick sheets, print and separate labels. Apply shipping labels to proper packages and verify all shipping addresses in the packing room. * Properly fill out all air bills and freight bills to outgoing shipments. Type all airport air bills and verify all addresses on freight bills (such as Continental and Southwest). * Maintain shipping vendors contracts in conjunction with the negotiation team. * Maintain the Logistics SOP. * Airports - short line delivery - Check billing to track expense if completed accruately. Qualifications Must have a working knowledge of microsoft Word, Excel, The Garden, Navision (or equivalent programs). Must be able to navigate on the internet. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills both verbally and written. Must be able to multi-task in a fast pace environment and work well under pressure. Must be detail oriented. Must have a valid driver's license if driving for The Chef's Garden. Education High school diploma; preferred - Associates degree in Office or related field with at least six months to one year of related work experience. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; occasionally stand and climb steps; use hands to type; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds on a daily basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
