POSITION PURPOSE

We are currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner. This is a full-time position based out of our Stockton, CA headquarters. The person selected will be responsible for the day to day responsibilities of HR which include but are not limited to recruiting, employee and labor relations, training, legal compliance, and wage and benefit administration for 400 employees. The ideal candidate will have a working understanding of transportation and the unique challenges of the transportation industry.

Here's what you’ll do…

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage all Human Resource policies and procedures to ensure they comply with all applicable laws.

· Recruit, select, lead onboarding and orientation of all new employees.

· Help build a performance-driven culture through the development and implementation of consistent performance management coaching and counseling techniques.

· Work with the leadership team to develop training programs that help employees develop their skill levels.

· Administer 401k plans, review compensation and benefits structure, ensuring they are competitive and compliant with legal requirements.

· Maintain required HR records including personnel files.

· Investigate, answer, and settle HR related matters.

· Mentor managers on employee relations issues and ensure the appropriate corrective actions are taken.

· Analyze information and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of the company’s personnel policies and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Communications, Psychology, or related field

• Certification in Human Resources via HRCI or SHRM (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM -SCP)

• 5 plus years of relevant HR experience, preferably in California

· Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations including FMLA/CFRA, DFEH, ADA, DOL, and ACA

· Successful track record of resolving employee relations issue and developing and maintaining a positive work environment.

· DOT knowledge and experience working in a union environment a plus

· Excellent interpersonal and written skills; team player

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office

· Proficiency with HRIS tools

· Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment; consult with team members and management as needed
