    Job Description

    o    Assist the Doctors and fellow workers on a daily working schedule for appointments, medication, patient care, blood work, vaccination, x-rays, in-house testing, and treatments.

    o    Receive and greet clients with their pets in exam rooms, take history of pets/patients, exchange information about sickness, and their concerns.

    o    Questions/Answers on new pets/Puppy& Kitten information.

    o    Get patients ready for DR. to examine.  Does necessary blood work before examination.  Prepare vaccines, nail trims, anal glands expressed, stool/urine sampling.

    o    Assist the doctor with exam, follow instructions from DR on blood work, x-rays, ear flush, bandage, fluids, urinalysis, fecal, etc.

    o    Prepare medications with Label to send home as prescribed by the doctor, explain medications to client and complete the chart with in house lab work results.

    o    Preparing estimates for clients with Doctors.

    o    Administer medications via orally, rectal, I/M, Sub Q, I/V

    o    Complete and check circle sheet for correctly charged and highlighted before bringing to front desk for check out.

    o    Home care instructions/burn x-rays and mail.

    o    Inform the client of follow up appointment if needed.

    o    Refill and label the requested medications with Doctors approval

    o    Clean and autoclave, surgery packs

    o    Medicating, cleaning, and care for in house patients

    o    Clean treatment area, lab, examination rooms, cages, floor, x-ray room

    o    Stock the exam rooms, medicine cabinets.

    o    Keep the hospital clean, neat, good working environment. 

    o    Welcome clients with professional courtesy, and a smile.

    o    Answering phone when needed.

    o    Perform enemas.

    o    Assists with euthanasia.

    o    Placement of IV catheters, fluid therapy, drawing blood

    o    Dental prophylaxis and explaining preventative dental healthcare.

    o    Cremations, receive ashes, call clients, special urns and/or requests

    o    Must be able to handle/lift pets and hospital product up to 50lbs.
