    About the Role

    chica project seeks Virtual Program Facilitators to lead the strategic execution of CP's virtual village community based programming. Successful candidates will support the facilitation of our "Chicas in Bloom" curriculum and engage program participants throughout our programs. Supported by the Associate Director of Programs, the successful candidates will work closely with the program team, community partners, youth participants, and volunteers to ensure high quality facilitation of CP's curriculum. This is a part-time per-diem opportunity starting at $25/hour.

    About You

    chica project is looking for someone who is mission-driven, with a positive attitude to play a critical role in ensuring the facilitation of "Chicas in Bloom" through different program areas. This is a valuable opportunity for someone to gain experience in the nonprofit sector, curriculum facilitation, youth engagement, social emotional skills, and join a powerful network of women in Massachusetts. Further qualifications include:

    • Passionate about youth development, social justice, and community building
    • Experience in facilitating/executing youth programs
    • Experience working with communities of color and grassroots organizations, with understanding of systemic oppressions
    • Interest in coordination and operations
    • Flexibility to work some nights and weekends (as determined in the start of the programming year)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Must be located in the Greater Boston area and surroundings
    • Multilingual (Spanish, Portuguese or Haitian Creole preferred)
    • Strong facilitation skills
    • A great sense of humor!
    • Love of continuous learning

    Responsibilities

    The position will be mainly responsible for the following areas, but duties can expand beyond central responsibilities of:

    • Adhere to the program timeline- it is expected that the candidate for this role will meet the scheduling expectations below.
    • Collaborating with chica project t eam to create, strengthen, and maintain current program operations, particularly in the execution of programming
    • Attend program events (virtual village program, community based sessions, in person community events, orientations, and special events like the virtual career panel)
    • For remote events, lead logistics of facilitation, zoom polls, hosting of sessions, and participant engagement
    • Participate in session planning and assessments with the program team
    • Ensure that programming and team fully and consistently embody values of chica project

    Program Timeline

    Our virtual programming runs in the fall from October 2023 to December 2023 and in the spring from February 2024 until May 2024. Though the weekly hours are not fixed, the ideal candidate should meet the following scheduling expectations:

    • Training: 10-15 weekly hours should be allocated for organization, team and program training during the months of August and January
    • Programming preparation: 3-5 weekly hours should be allocated for program preparation (agenda building, run of show, independent prep, additional tasks as assigned such as communications or email)
    • Programming execution: 2-3 weekly hours during the programming semester (fall and spring) which also include pre-session huddle time, and post-session debrief
      • ** Please note:** programming hours are bi-monthly Saturdays (10AM-12PM) and changes to future programming hours will be communicated
    • Post-programming: 1-5 weekly hours in the months where there is no active programming
