    Chica Project (CP) is a nonprofit organization comprised of diverse leaders, professionals, and volunteers throughout Massachusetts.     About the Role 

    CP is looking for two youth programming interns to help execute CP's core programming. Successful candidates will support the operations and expansion of CP's Peer Leader and Community and School-Based programs. Reporting to the Sr. Program Manager, these individuals will work closely with program fellows, community partners, youth participants, and volunteers to ensure high quality facilitation of CP's curriculum.  THIS IS A PAID OPPORTUNITY.

    About You 

    Chica Project is looking for someone who is mission-driven, with a positive attitude to play a critical role in ensuring that the day-to-day functioning of CP's programming and the youth participants are being supported effectively and efficiently. This is a valuable opportunity for interns to gain experience in the nonprofit sector, develop communications, operations, and social emotional skills, and join a powerful network of women in Massachusetts. Further qualifications include:

    • Passionate about youth development, social justice, and community building 
    • Experience in facilitating/executing youth programs
    • Experience working with communities of color and grassroots organizations, with understanding of systemic oppressions
    • Interest in coordinating events and lead program operations
    • Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bilingual: Proficiency or fluency in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole is preferred, but not required 
    • Strong facilitation skills 
    • A great sense of humor!
    • Love of continuous learning

    Responsibilities:

    The position will be mainly responsible for the following areas, but duties can expand beyond central responsibilities of:

    • Collaborate with staff and fellows to create, strengthen, and maintain current program operations from recruitment to evaluation 
    • Manage data entry (attendance, demographics, network, etc.) 
    • Create and modify any necessary documents for program engagement (interest forms, waitlists, applications, in-program assessment, and end-of-program surveys) 
    • Assist program team with managing program communications (advertising, case management forms, and newsletters) 
    • Attend all program events (peer leader sessions, community based sessions, orientations, and special events like the annual fundraiser)
    • Create and distribute outreach list of program participants per event 
    • Coordinate logistics from execution of session agendas, relationship with facilitators, and coordinating transportation and/or meals for youth participants 
    • Participate in session planning and assessments
      • For in person sessions, lead logistics of setup/breakdown of space, IT equipment, and maintain space cleanliness throughout event
        • For remote events, lead logistics of facilitation, zoom polls, hosting of sessions, and participant engagement
