    About the Role

    CP is looking for a Development Intern to support the enhancement of CP's grants management process and other fundraising initiatives. The successful candidate will play a critical role in seeking, screening and executing CP's development initiatives that include but are not limited to foundation and government grants, individual donors, corporate partnerships, and annual fundraisers. Reporting to the Data and Development Associate, this individual will work closely with the Data and Development team to ensure that the organization's developmental goals are met. THIS IS A PAID OPPORTUNITY.

    About You 

    Chica Project is looking for someone who is mission-driven, with a positive attitude to play a critical role in seeking, screening, and applying to values-aligned funding opportunities. This is a valuable opportunity for this individual to gain experience in the nonprofit sector, develop funding assessment, report writing, and relationship skills, and join a powerful network of women in Massachusetts. Further qualifications include:

    • Passionate about youth development, social justice, and community building 
    • Experience in values-based screening and assessment 
    • Experience working with communities of color and grassroots organizations, with understanding of systemic oppressions
    • Interest in development and funder engagement 
    • Flexibility to work independently and in teams as needed

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Willingness to learn software management
    • Strong organizational and writing skills 
    • A great sense of humor!
    • Love of continuous learning

    Responsibilities:

    The position will be mainly responsible for the following areas, but duties can expand beyond central responsibilities of: 

    • Collaborate with data and development team to enhance the grant management process
    • Manage grant database (using asana and Salesforce) for grants at any step of the process (screening, application, active, and reporting) 
    • Research available grants with foundations, universities, corporations, and government entities
    • Draft and review grant applications as needed
    • Take lead on identifying funding opportunities 
    • Conduct values-based screening 
    • Engage existing/new donors
    • Support in drafting reports, correspondence and preparing promotional packages for donors
    • Assist with innovative fundraising efforts
    • Manage giving platforms (Benevity, GiveTide, AmazonSmiles, etc.) 
    • Attend occasional programming
